Port of Boston is described by Edmund Randolph.
January 31, 1680
(Jan.) Returning to Boston after being appointed Collector and Surveyor of the Customs in New England, Randolph notes, “[The] corporation of Boston [was] lording it over the whole region, and that the Port was a great clearing house and distributing center for the American Colonies.” He returns to Boston in 1681 and 1682.*
